ABOUT ME

Hi all CS folk! I am an Australian traveler who just loves Latin Culture. I spend 11 months living in Mexico in 2012 and return there whenever I can. I'm a singer songwriter in an original Mexican, Surf, Cowboy Rock band...its my creative passion. I'm Open to learning about peoples cultures and life experiences...us humans are an endless source of inspiration to me.To save confusion...some people call me Frankie and others call me Debra, I prefer Frankie :) Now that my daughters are all grown I'm keen to do more traveling, work a variety of jobs in different places and meeting lots of awesome people.I have done quite a bit of travel in Australia and overseas and always up for more.I consider myself a good friend with a warm heart and a sometimes mischievous sense of fun. I think I have a good sense of self too. Having said that I appreciate humbleness in others and try to practice it myself.

PHILOSOPHY

Be a little mental it stops you from going insane...as long as no one gets hurt!!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been travelling and surfing some couches in Mexico and Belize the UK and Europe.I have had many travellers stay with me in Darwin Northern Australia, Adelaide in the South and always look forward to meeting new people from around the world! ;-) I try to answer all emails and assist however I can, whether it is a couch,tourist info, or to meet for a drink and a chat...every little bit helps I hope.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have CSurfed with my friend Dani with several hosts in London, Paris and Holland and it was a great experience. A really good way to meet locals and be more a part of the areas where you stay.I really enjoy having CS ers stay with me and it is a great way to meet new people and keep the passion for travel alive! Those that have stayed with me have all been a positive meeting and in some cases I have made wonderful friends that I hope to see again ;)

Interesses

Lover of nature and animals, all sorts! Animal cruelty just breaks my heart :-(

I love music,up for some dancing out and about or just in the lounge room.

Have worked and studied in the visual arts arena and still get into my photography and writing.

I like the outdoors and adventures either on, in or around the sea.

I read mostly biographies of people who have done interesting things or risen from adversity..it inspires me!

Keep fit mostly by walking, swimming and dancing..and a little yoga.

TV & MOVIES: Flight of the Concordes/ Andrew Denton/ Spicks and Specks, IT Crowd.
Any movie slightly left of centre..love British Comedy, something with dark humor, good characters, good script and heart. Something that makes me think and feel. Cohen Brothers always a fav...loved 'In Bruge"

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

I have hand fed live eels to Jabirus (very large birds) Indigenous to Northern Territory of Australia.... they are very slippery and give you a most disturbing look ..perhaps they know they they are soon to be in the belly of a Jabiru??

I suppose its not that amazing but it was pretty cool!

I have 3 grown daughters, have worked in the Arts and also with Indigenous cultures of Australia as well as people with special needs. I think my positive, live and let live attitude to life is a bonus as is my years of experience in being a compassionate person.I can show you some of the highlights of my city, including some great live Music Venues.
