ABOUT ME

I'm an Alaskan girl that loves nature and enjoying life. I like meeting new people and doing new things. I'm willing to give anything a try at least once...unless I just saw someone else try it and it didn't go to well. :) My name IS really Delight. No my parents weren't hippies...yes I hear a lot of jokes...no I don't mind them. I'm engaged to the most incredible guy on the planet, only he's currently on the other side of it. :( I'm a spiritual person but, not a religious person. I respect other peoples opinions and beliefs even if I don't agree with them. I love having lively discussions and listening to good stories. I LOVE to LAUGH!

PHILOSOPHY

First of all, humans are tiny compared to the world around them. People are amazing because their all so unique but, all the same. I believe that you only live once so live it up. I also believe in the golden rule of do to other what you want others to do to you. Finally, and most importantly, be resourceful and make the most of things.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently on a student exchange in Tromso, Norway and have been having a blast!!! I'm excited to travel through Europe, not TOUR Europe. I figure that crashing on peoples couches will give me a better feel for the places that I want to visit. I'm not really in a position to host people at the moment but, when I'm back in Alaska I'm sooooooo ready for hosting and showing off my state.

My CouchSurfing experiences are pretty limited at the moment. Does falling asleep at friends houses because I partied to hard count?

Yes sleep is amazing when you go without for long periods of time...

Movies: Moulin Rouge, The Yellow Submarine, Fight Club, Howl's Moving Castle, Dazed and Confused, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Across the Universe, Dexter tv series, Weeds tv series, and Snatch...

Music: Sublime, Beatles, Tool, NIN, the Doors, Incubus, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Sweating Honey, and recently Royksopp. Pretty much anything EXCEPT modern country...bleh...

Books: Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter (all of them), the Watchmen, Utopia (I just do okay,) A Wrinkle In Time, FEAR and LOATHING in Los Vegas, the Lizard King, Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, and a bunch of sci-fi fantasy series. I should note that I almost exclusively read fiction because I study politics and other depressing realities in college.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Lived in -50/-60C weather...I amazed that I have all my fingers and toes. Hot tubed past Fjords in Norway. Seen the most mind blowingly beautiful Northern Lights in Alaska. Gotten sunburned after 10 pm.

uuuhhhh...I can make macrame jewelry (I'm not a hippie I swear,) make a mix drink out of almost anything, I know how to ask directions, I can cook, know how to handle kids, take care of drunks, mediate arguments and pan for gold (seriously.)

I would like to know how to speak another language fluently and many many other things....its overwhelming.
