About Me

Real encounter, curiosity, diverse experience, and everything that results ;) !

I feel home when I discover new places and people around the world. I am curious about understanding how things work and why they are as they are, I enjoy nearly all kinds of sport - especially volleyball, gliding, swimming, inlineskating, squash, climbing - and I love music, lively discussions, fun adventures, games nights, the warmth and feeling of belonging when gathering around a camp-fire, swimming in the sea or having good food with friends and family ... recently I discovered Ashtanga Yoga for myself - can only recommend it!

Currently becoming an expert on neuroscience - so better be careful ;) ! I have lived in Maastricht (Netherlands) until recently (February 2013), spent the summer working in Hamburg, Germany, and now moved to London for my MSc at UCL, September 2013. It's been a busy time so far and I am looking forward to the remaining months until the second year of that programme starts in Paris Sept.2014.

As for the future I am thinking about research in social/network neuroscience, science journalism or mediation/ personal conflict resolution. These things appeal to me because they make me learn about all kinds of topics related to living, science and social life, spend time writing, reading, interviewing people, discussing, and doing research - so things that might satisfy never ending curiosity ;)

Hope to meet you! All the best from London

I like open-mindedness and people who open their mouth to espress their own opinion. If everyone accepted that others might think, live, eat, or behave different, but may have the same needs and feelings as oneself, I'd say life would be more real, interesting, and enjoyable. Oh and a good humor: a good laugh can make a day so please share your fun thoughts and happiness!!! ;-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently it is a bit difficult to host because I am staying at my parents place in Hamburg. Also, I am frequently out of town and not yet sure how I will spend the summer.. When in town, I am always up for a chai, other drink or breakfast/lunch/dinner together, though.

Recently?I did a spontaneous hitchhiking trip to cologne with a friend and we ended up being offered a place to sleep at 4am - of course by a couchsurfer we met while walking to the next interesting bar (until the next day we didn't know he was a couchsurfer though). Great time.I went hitchhiking and couchsurfing from Maastricht to Santander (Spain) in summer 2011 - lots of experiences and interesting people! More of that!!

Meet new people, be outdoors, do all kinds of sports, enjoy music, read a lot, go to concerts, dance until I am exhausted, enjoy the company of my friends and family.. hopefully I will soon do gliding again, and I'd love to skydive sometime.. :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I read/saw/listened to so many... but.. maybe.. a slightly random selection of my favourite movies: Mr Nobody, Memento, Cloud Atlas, Avatar, oh and recently: Fack ju Göthe - very good laughs^^

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learned how mad the body turns when the mind thinks its a better idea to decide something that goes against the heart. Whuautsh.
