ABOUT ME

I have been a non stop traveler since the age of 15, every chance I get I go. I have been to a good portion of the world, all over Europe (13 countries) to China, all over the USA, almost all 50 states, and I am soooo far from ending. At the age of 23 I'm headed to Alaska. I am a musician by trade and play fiddle and guitar and mandolin. It's my bread and butter as well as an instant friend basis. I travel by playing, essentially touring, but mostly in subways or roadsides. I'm taking two months to head to Alaska. Two summers ago I rode my bicycle from Chicago to Maine and down to NYC, with a fiddle and guitar and tent and clothes, what not. People were so helpful and friendly I was in debt to society. I spent the last year in Austin TX playing a ton of music. I ran into a few cross country cyclists that I was able to support, it was kind of a hostel for those kinda folk while I was there. I felt that I repaid some of my debt to karma, but now the tables have turned once again and I look to my neighbors for support in any way.

PHILOSOPHY

Trust in the fact that everything will work out, because it always does. I follow my heart or instincts to a "t". When I hear a calling I go for it, usually empty handed and with no expectation. Always coming out on top. Even if I have to go through hard ship, it's actually part of the gain!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to clean and cook! I also will play music for any event, even dinner or a campfire, or private events. I am a professional and can put together any wedding!I am pretty handy around the house, and whenever I have a place myself I eagerly search for the weary traveler and insist on doing whatever I can to help.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far it has been lucky situations of making friends on the road or friends of friends.But I have only heard good things about this community.

Music, Music, Music. I like to surf and swim too! and COOK! I grew up with an Italian cultured family so that was a big part of growing up for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Wes Anderson, Life Aquatic, I heart Huckabees, Royal Tennenbaums. Music... unending. But particularly Bob Dylan, Led Zepplin, Radio Head, Beck, Regina Spector, Billie Holiday, on and on...
On the Road by Jack Kerouac is my bible, typical perhaps, but that book opened my perspective. I also love biographies and documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel like one awesome thing I got to do, was play on the great wall of china with my high school orchestra. My director is actually a good friend of mine now, and I just totally commend him for making that happen.
Also hiking in some mountains in Portugal, there are some people and places that reside up there that exist with magic!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I never went to college or anything like that. I just started to travel as soon as it was feesable. I learned that I could make anything happen! I never had my parents pay for anything, I just work and make it happen. Money is never a reason not to do something, in my opinion, it's just a tool and you have to know how to use it. I feel that people and their experiences are sometimes more important and valuable than who or what they know. I have made some extremely helpful connections to people that I will tap into like a bank with my most prized posessions, to me at least. Sometimes I get handed a perspective that is so helpful and enlightening, these experiences can happen everyday, and you don't necessarily have to travel the world to have them. It mostly comes from within, you have to want to see it.
