ABOUT ME

I love to play games and do music. I am an "idealist" and thus find miself repeatedly engaged in all kinds of interesting projects... like working at a free democratic school (http://www.kapriole-freiburg.de) or building up a european network for democratic education (http://www.eudec.org). I love nature and am a friendly and relaxed guy (I hope :-)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's all new to me... (see below).
Unfortunately I can't offer a couch at the moment. But if you are around Freiburg and are interested in seeing one of the best schools in Europe, a place where kids direct their day and truly have an equal say in how the school is run - then I can give you a tour, for example.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only one ... yet! But that one was nice and I will from now on try and go a little bit more out of my way to couch-surf when travelling. Met a friendly host and a lovely co-surfer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been to india several times. Once for half a year.
Have been to beautiful Scandinavia often - mostly Finland or Norway.
Mostly I enjoy the richness and diversity of nature. The most "magical" moments I have experienced have been in nature.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am currently the Council Chairman of the European Democratic Education Community - a network of democratic schools (like "Summerhill" or Sudbury-Schools for example) in Europe where students are free to learn what they want. And I have been working at such a school for more than 7 years now. So I know a bit about that topic :-)

I have been playing music since I was 5. Checked out many different instruments (Clarinet, Guitar, (E)Bass, Banjo, Cachon, Bansuri/Irish-Flute, Glockenspiel, general percussion play-thingies...) still using quite a few of them in my band. My main instrument still is the clarinet. My new love since ~4 years is the piano.

I am a total (board)game geek. I love to play and know tons of good games for all kinds of groups.

I am quite a good (vegetarian) cook, and I like to eat quality food prepared with care and love.

Oh and lots more... I just love to learn all kinds of new things.
Being introduced to peoples favourite music/bands is always a treat.
I'd love to get more deeply into filming - and would be very happy to be taught there. Have amateured with a Lumix GH1 and some beautiful old lenses. It's a total new world just a step away from photography.
