ABOUT ME

Hello everyone! My name is Kaya, I was born in a little town called Hastings on the coast of South East England. Moved to Australia when I was 11 and have lived here ever since. I love a huge range of book and films, particularly foreign or art house. I also have a major passion for language and began learning French at the beginning of last year. In fact, I have been enjoying it so much that I will soon be heading to France to work as a language assistant. I can't wait to be in Europe, to meet some more amazing people and perhaps pick up another language in the process!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I only recently found out about couch surfing through a friend and I think it is the most amazing idea. I want to be involved to meet more people through out the world, to be able to get a locals perspective on the places I visit and to be able to show others the parts of my home town they wouldn't find listed in a guide book. As I am studing languages, I am particularly interested in sharing my language with others and having the opportunity to learn and practice different languages myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently had my first couch surfer stay with me a couple of months ago. He was French and in the middle of a years travelling in Australia and New Zealand. He only needed a place to stay for 2 nights or so, but we all go along so well that my sister and I invided him to stay on longer so we could show him all the sights and we are now all great friends!

Intereses

I love all forms of theatre, drama and film; viewing and performing. I love to write and read anything. My dad is a musician, so I have grown up on music and love all styles. I am also a lover of all things french and started to learn the language in March 2008, so I am also interested in anything that allows me to practice! Above all I am interested in travelling, experiencing new cultures, meeting new people, learning the history of different countries and finding a way that I can afford to continuously do this for the rest of my life!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Having lived and travelled throughout much of Australia, I can share my knowledge of the country. I can also share my knowledge of languages (fluent in English and learning French). I would also love to learn more languages and improve my level of French, as well as pick up more local knowledge of the places I travel too.
