About Me

Hey there! I'm Aaron – an easygoing Aussie with a passion for meaningful conversations, spontaneous adventures, and building cool stuff that makes life a little smoother for others.

I'm currently running a car-sharing business back in Australia, which keeps me on my toes, but I’m also exploring the world (and life) a bit differently now—traveling slow, working remotely, and scouting soulful places to settle and build new things. I’m especially drawn to coastal towns, island vibes, and communities where the pace is calm, the smiles are genuine, and there’s always a boat or a beach nearby.

I’ve lived and worked in a bunch of places, from Guangzhou to the Redlands coast, and now I’m diving into Southeast Asia to scout new opportunities and soak up the culture. I’m into sailing (currently restoring and rigging my catamaran Aramoana), 3D design, sustainable living, and long conversations about the future of tech, nature, and life’s big (and small) questions.

People say I’m warm, curious, and grounded. I believe in generosity, good food, open-mindedness, and the joy of figuring things out together. Whether it’s swapping stories over coffee, going for a walk, brainstorming a wild idea, or fixing a dinghy with duct tape and determination, I’m all in.

Looking forward to connecting, couch-surfing style – sharing a laugh, a meal, or a spontaneous plan with fellow travelers, creators, and dreamers. Let’s make the world feel a little smaller (and friendlier), one couch at a time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’ve been Couchsurfing since 2009 and honestly, it’s shaped so much of how I travel and connect with the world. From wild adventures to deep late-night chats, it’s taken me off the tourist trail and right into the heart of places I’d never have known otherwise. Some of my most memorable travel moments started on someone’s couch—with strangers who quickly felt like friends.

For me, Couchsurfing isn’t just about a place to crash—it’s about swapping stories, sharing laughs, and getting a real feel for a place through the people who live there. It’s hands-down the best way to travel if you’re curious, open, and up for the unexpected.

These days, I love giving back when I can—whether that means hosting, helping people find their way around, or just catching up for a beer and a good chat. Always keen to meet other travelers, makers, wanderers, and storytellers.
