ABOUT ME

Hello! We're Rob and Helen and are from Sheffield in the UK. We are currently on a RTW trip, visiting Nepal, India, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Australia and New Zealand across 9 months. Phew!
We met at school and have been together for four years. We've holidayed together before but nothing like this!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Absolutely new to CS! We heard about it from a friend and thought we should give it a go too. It seems such a simple idea to bring people from other countries together and we can't wait to try it out.

Rob- I love loads sports such as football, swimming, running and climbing - most outdoor activities. I am also a big fan of Formula 1 racing, and I went to the race in Kuala Lumpur 2009.
When we get back from our trip I am going to university to study sport science at Leeds Metropolitan University.

Helen - OK, I'm not a sports fan at all! But I love music and play piano (which I'm seriously missing on this trip) and love listening to music as well. I love reading and watching films and just chilling out with friends. I'm off to Leeds too, to study English and French.

Rob - My three favourite movies are 'The Matrix', 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' and 'Kill Bill'.
I love loads of bands but especially the Foo Fighters and Led Zeppelin. And my favourite book is probably 'Shantaram', but I also love 'Lord of the Rings'!

Helen - I like all kinds of movies but mostly girly ones which I have to coerce Rob into watching! Music-wise, I love Blur, Jack Johnson, old stuff like Motown and the Beatles, anything really. While we've been away, I've loved reading books about the countries we're visiting - 'Shantaram' was awesome and I'm partway through 'Wild Swans' at the moment. I love classics as well, anything by Jane Austen, plus Angela Carter and Salman Rushdie.

In Nepal, we walked the Annapurna Circuit, an 18 day trek which took us right round the Annapurna range and up to 5400m. The scenery was so beautiful and the experience of staying in small villages in the mountains was eye-opening.
