About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to give 50 high fives a day and to conjure as many smiles.

ABOUT ME

I use to be able to answer this easily with my notions of who i was but the question and answer in my mind have adhered together. It hasnt been a question for a while but i shall do my best.
From the outside to the inside... im a free spirit, humorous (and infamous for one liners or fa" jesus outbursts), drifting, passionate , roosters illusion, artist, musician, "mama owl in the window" (as i got the nickname in amsterdam). Those attributes have always been in association with me but what has always sat in the captains seat of my mind is still this child like self, using the means of art and music to bring her out. I realized i havent changed much, as i fell into a fad a time or two, I always resumed to me, while wondering why anyone tries to be one they are not... That is my mission now, to clear away the illusions and better understand myself... with a banjo.
I still let my imagination run wild and usually forget someone is watching. I have a passion for creating. Whether it be with my water colors, writing songs on my gea.tar or just playing with salt on a table.. Every little moment springs a seed to life. (: (in which, i can pull all those articles out of my mary poppins purse, maybe not the guitar but its always with me.)
Im still find new things about myself.. i just keep an open mind and let it flow.

PHILOSOPHY

treat others the way you wish to be treated.. golden rule.
treat yourself like a holy temple and find balance within.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i spread the good word to good people.. while on a recent advenuture, my friend showed me the way of cs and it opened my eyes to a different way of traveling..
also, i would consider it participating by picking my shit up and keeping my hosts house spotless. My OCD mama taught me well, though not her extremes. (;

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i just got back from 5 weeks in EU.. Ms. mel had an account for cs and showed me the ropes. I had the most amazing time going about cs, rather than other means of housing.
It built amazing friendships and memories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

sailed to catalina last weekend, fell in love with a swede while losing my car in a parking garage ( hour later come to find i was in the wrong building), picked blueberries and made pies on a friends island in sweden, painted at the window of an ol' house in gamla stan, stockholm. Canoed the russian river with my norweigan wood (randi). Had the best 5 weeks with some damn good friends in france, italy, spain, amsterdam this summer.
road tripped to austin from sf with a 6 man band from belgium.
Danced down rows of palm trees at a farm in big island, as a band on acid jammed till the light came. Jumped in a rv with some folks from st. sebastian in biarritz, france. Then on the way to paris met some other folks and stayed the eve to jam on the guitar all night and see castles.
found out what it meant to "miss the boat" when i was in AMS.
i literally missed the boat and a friends wedding, while running down cobble stone streets in heels. ha
learned to cook from a true italian mama.
took a private plan around the italian riviera.
caught my first firefly in finale ligur, italy.
I most enjoy the simple things.

Teach, Learn, Share

i have found.. life is like painting. How you approach a painting is similar to how you approach the details of your life. I had a illustrator in a figure drawing tell me, "really look at whats there.. your imagination knows how but you must train the eye to put them together." as i progressed in drawing, i grew in understanding myself. To learn patience, as i have in painting (still learning). Most of all, enjoy every step of the process. if it is something you love, it should be a pleasure. oh, and for me.. dont wait till the last moment, whether in life or with projects i embark on. all can be applied to my art and the way i live. its about being mindful.. thats what i have learned.
i wouldnt have learned this without a little outside perspective.
I guess CS is a perfect place to see yourself amongst others.
