ABOUT ME

We are a couple: Pablo and Micaela... with Twins!!.

We made a trip around the world, in which we used CS to meet nice people, and get good hints on how to take the most of each place, getting out of the touristic circuit. Now we want to help visitors have the same fun in our country.

So we should tell you that Uruguay its not only Montevideo, we recommend you also to go to some beaches:
Department of Maldonado: Piriapolis, Punta del este
Department of Rocha: Punta del Diablo, Valizas, Cabo Polonio
If you like better the natural places: Cabo Polonio and Valizas are the best options.

Away from the beaches, you should go to some other places, like the colonial city of Colonia del Sacramento, have beautiful landscapes in Villa Serrana, or meeting the small charming town of San Gregorio de Polanco.

In internet you can find good information about it.

In Montevideo you can go (at night) in the old City to
Fun Fun (http://www.barfunfun.com/) and ask for "Uvita", a typical small drink.
In front: Bar Santa Catalina, typical old resturant. There you can try Chivitos Canadienses.
And behind to Santa Catalina: La Ronda, rock, art and a nice enviroment.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have traveled a lot couchsurfing, and in Montevideo, where we live, we are in a cool apartment in Ciudad Vieja, downtown, we like to share it with CouchSurfers whenever we can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just great. As well hosting people as surfing around the World!!.

It's incredible how in such a few time living together with someone you can feel like it's a whole life's relationship, and gets born a friendship for the whole life. The world becomes a smaller place where you always remember someone and someone is remembering you. With affection, love and good wishes... what else can someone ask for life?

Intereses

Travelling. Meeting different people and cultures.
Having fun.
Looking for ways for changing the world and make something better of it.
Freedom.
IT, but not just for working with computers: a tool for creating better education, help people with disabilities, etc.. We've worked for the One Laptop Per Child project (http://laptop.org) and Plan Ceibal in Uruguay (see my blog, a bit out of use the last months: http://proyecto-ceibal.blogspot.com, some articles in English: http://olpc-ceibal.blogspot.com).

To take from the street an ill dog and see how we gave him the opportunity of a happy life. That's how we like to adopt and get adopted. :)

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Teach not to complicate yourself, we all often get sink in a glass of water.
Learn not to worry for superficial things, there are always more important things to worry about.
Share what's been learned, without any kind of envy.
