About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Taking my brother, who is about to graduate high school, on an epic trip to the southwest, a land he has yet to explore. Helping him to see how big, beautiful, wondrous, and diverse the world is

PHILOSOPHY

I feel that we lived in a time when our current economic and governing systems are estranged from the populations they are set to serve. I wish to live my life with a sense of community breaking from these institutions which wish to improperly define what it is to be human and returning to a more harmonious existence with myself, the earth, and spirituality. Do all things with Love and seek Truth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted several individuals at my former place of residence, and have enjoyed showing several more CSers around my home town. It is always a joy to meet people from varying cultures to examine my own thoughts, make new friends, and more generally have a good time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After going down to the gulf coast following Katrina to help rebuild, I went to the ocean. The hurricane had made it such that the water was only two feet deep for hundreds of feet from the shoreline. On the particular night I visited a thick wall of fog had rolled in making the water visible for only a little ways out. I walked into the water and fog, going so deep that eventually I was entirely surrounded by fog. When completely immersed I could not tell the shore from the ocean, east from west. Everywhere around me was this transient gray, fluid and yet impermeable. No matter how much I walked in one direction or another what I saw was unchanged. Besides a starry sky out in the back woods it is the closest I have ever come to a feeling of the infinite.

though it was a simple experience it was pretty amazing to me

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a fair amount about general health, specifically mental health. Within this comes an understanding of a variety of therapeutic modalities. Aspects of this can be useful inter or intrapersonally for people in all seasons of life.

I have also made a earth bag house before and can share what I have learned from that experience (see pictures)
