About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Meet inspiring people from around the world, and hope to leave a trail of good vibes along the way!
ABOUT ME
We're easy-going, relaxed people, who love to share stories and laughs. We both love a good sense of adventure and love to travel, but life tends to be a little busy since we're both working almost every day (it's that self-employed thing!). The plan is in a couple years to rent out our home and hit the road, traveling the Americas for a year.
When on vacation, we fly by the seat of our pants, open for any great experience that comes our way...
We live near Lawrencetown Beach, along the scenic eastern shore of Nova Scotia.
Stefan works as a self-employed carpenter/contractor building or renovating homes around the Halifax area.
Daina is a professional artist (oil and encaustic painter) who works from her home studio during the week and sells her art at her Ocean Art Studio booth at the Halifax Seaport Market every Saturday and Sunday 8am-4pm, year round.
We have a senior dog, Daizy (18), who is a real sweetheart and loves new company.
Our property is quite private, within a short drive of everything. In the summer when foliage is lush you can't see the neighbours across the road and to the right. To the left and behind the house is just forest. You could even camp in the front yard if you wish.
Proximity: 10 minutes to Cole Harbour; 15 minutes to Dartmouth; 30 minutes to Halifax. You can smell the delicious ocean air, hear the surf and birds sing, and bike/walk 1 km to nearby Trans-Canada trail, and a few km from 4 beautiful beaches!! Lawrencetown Beach (good for surfing), Stoney's Beach (great for windsurfing or kite-surfing), Conrad Beach (sandy, huge, great for a 1hr walk, kite-surfing, boogy-boarding, swimming), Rainbow Haven (volleyball, suntanning). You would need a car to get around, unless you are on a long-distance bicycle trip.
PHILOSOPHY
We're all part of the human race, each as unique as our fingerprints. There is no black and white, just every shade in between.
All nature is vital to the longevity of the Earth, and humans need to step back to move forward.
Smiles are contagious :)
"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." ~ St. Augustine

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one?! But there are so many;) ... Climbed the hightest tree on Hornby Island, BC; Built an igloo around our house in Field, BC; Saw stars on the horizon and heard my heartbeat like thunder in the Small Sahara, Morocco; Treeplanted 3 summers with the bears and bugs and barely hung on to my sanity; Climbed the highest mountain in the Adirondacks; Almost died- experienced hypothermia from falling into rapids in winter, and extreme heat stroke from treeplanting in 50 degree Celsius in Northern Ontario.
Teach, Learn, Share
We have so many great stories and unique experiences to share. It's something that unfolds during conversation. Different folks will bring out different interactions. We all walk away feeling a little wiser and inspired.
We can teach you how to paddle a canoe, oil paint, throw a hammer, garden, boogy-board, build a sandcastle, start a camp fire, cook...?
