Practicing peace, Loving lots, Laughing hard, Living free
ABOUT ME
My dad once told me "I never want to stop learning until the day I die." These are the words I live by. I want to see and discover, meet new, interesting and kind people, try (almost)everything once, plant and hug trees, make the world a better place, learn, grow, share, give, and have fun! I like dance parties, random adventures and walking barefoot.
**Also, I did not currently verify myself on CS, as I won't have a permanent address in two weeks, until I return to the U.S. which then I will take the steps to doing!
PHILOSOPHY
I am a happy person, thankful for the opportunity to simply be alive.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to this, but I love the concept of a global, traveling community. Right now, I'm studying in Paris, France so I don't have an available couch. However, I'm open to meeting people here and will have available space for travelers to stay when I move back to the US in late summer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had my first CS experience in Milan, where I stayed with four great guys. My friend Caitlin actually set it up, so I have yet to surf a couch on my own, but I'm looking forward to it!
In the US through miscellaneous ways I've hosted and stayed at friends of friends and random, kind strangers homes. I had an amazing camping in the backyard experience this summer in Bend, Oregon!
Interests
Music. At home, at a festival, in the car, at a concert, in a bar... music everywhere. Laughing til it hurts. Animals, especially dogs. Talks that last til 6am. Peace. Social Justice. Environmental Sustainability. Taking walks that allow me to simply wander. Outdoor activities. Wine and beer tasting. Traveling. Meeting new people. New friends. Old friends. Sports... well, mostly just soccer, but I like a challenge and can be pretty competitive (for fun!) even when its just watching. Hugging trees. Experiencing new things. Dance parties. Sunshine. Randomness. Life!

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything and everything by Dave Eggers! Theres too many books, too much music, sooo many movies. It's easier to list what I don't like- cheesy romance novels, raunchy rap music and really horrific scary movies... I can try almost anything, but I need company for a scary
movie!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I have ever experienced is when I was an intern in Ghana. I worked for an environmetal organization, A Rocha, which took me to a rural village called Yazori to stay for 5 days and work with the community. At the end of my stay, my heart was breaking, as I had fallen in love so tremendously with this group of people, so different and so wonderful.... The community is half Muslim, half Christian and at the end of that last night, Abrahim, a kind man I'd taken walks with but hardly spoken to (as he doesn't speak English) shared a Muslim prayer to which Muslims, Christians and myself all bowed our heads, listening to his gentle words. Despite not knowing Arabic, I understood that under that huge starry sky we were the same; small, humble and grateful.
Teach, Learn, Share
Any form of art, music, literature, philosophy... I've got so much to learn and a bit to contribute. I can also cook pretty well and would be happy to make you a meal! I can do a little bit of hemp work, love yoga, am good outdoors and am learning more about photography. Anything you want to teach me, I'd probably be in on! Also, I want to play spades, if you don't know how, we need four people and I'll teach you!
