About Me

CURRENT MISSION

see the world

ABOUT ME

We enjoy traveling and have always wanted to spend a year abroad. This past June, we quit our jobs to pursue our dream. With small backpacks and without many plans, we are seeing where the world takes us, who we meet and what we learn. We both like experiences where we can learn about ourselves, each other and the world, as well as challenge ourselves along the way. Vickie is an educator at home and enjoys getting children excited about learning, as well as being a mentor during the difficult middle school years. Steve is a banker turned writer with a long-standing interest in Asia.

PHILOSOPHY

Steve- Being wholly whereever I am right now
Vickie-Life is short, so enjoy it and those you love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have had many wonderful experiences meeting people through surfing on their couch or meeting for coffee or dinner. We try to find people to meet in almost every place we visit- the true way to get to know a place is to talk with the people who live there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are currently traveling around Asia and joined just before we left for our trip. We have really appreciated how people have opened their homes to us and made time in their busy lives so that we can have an exchange with each other. At the end of our travels, we are really looking forward to hosting people at our place. We love where we live and want to share all our city has to offer.

Interests

Steve is a vegetarian. He enjoys reading, meditation and yoga.
Vickie is likes to bike ride, teach children, spend time with family and friends and learn whenever possible.
We both like to meet new people, laugh and experience what the world has to offer.
