ABOUT ME

I'm easy-going and upbeat. I like to laugh and to make other people laugh. Last year I bumbled around South America, working on organic farms (WWOOF) and a scientific research station. Then I toiled in a Swiss lab for 4 months. Now I'm back in the North of England - not all that is gold glitters. It's good to be back.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Slovenia with Tone's family and Blaz. It was amazing, showed me what couchsurfing is all about.
Canada and the US - two great Couchsurfing places. Had the honour and pleasure of meeting CS royality - Mr. Smiley.
Argentina and Chile with one of my best mates Pat. Super-bacan. La gente tienen muy buena ondas! Fecho with his ski hut up in the Andes deserves a special mention, gracias por todos amigo.

Interests

I can get interested in most things...the world and all the crazy shit going on in it is fascinating. I like to hear people's stories and what they think about things.

In terms of activities I like camping and outdoor stuff. Sports can be fun (except cricket and golf). Like all Englishmen I feel at home in a pub. I'm studying Invasive plants and have a rough background in Environmental science and Ecology. I like cooking (and eating).

Music, Movies, and Books

Live music. Some bands I really like: The National, Arcade Fire, Beach House, The Tallest Man On Earth, Bob Dylan, The Black Keys, Oasis, The Roots.

Films that make you think, laugh or cry, like Das leben der anderen. Fawlty towers and Red Dwarf (classic 80's British Comedy). BBC wonders like Planet Earth and Tribe. The Wire.

Currently reading the True History of the Kelly Gang (about Australia's Iconic Ned Kelly). Enjoyed Jared Diamond's Collapse. Favourite books: Life of Pi, American Gods, The Road, Lord of the Rings, Blair Wars.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping in abandoned gold miners cabins (surrounded by bears and wolves).

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach how to milk goats. Learn anything (particularly Spanish). Share stories.
