ABOUT ME

I'm a 21 year old female taking an open approach to life in an attempt to learn as much as I can from those who cross my path.
I've recently graduated with a BSc in Nutrition and Food from Ryerson University in Toronto. Although I enjoyed my degree and have definitely learned a great deal, I have always appreciated voluntary skill sharing and the special kind of learning that comes from lived experience, travel and meeting new people.
The last few years have been the most memorable moments of my life, thanks to the couch surfing community. I lived in Australia for 8 months, hitch hiked around europe for 6 months and on top of that it encouraged me to take small trips around my home city to detroit, montreal, new york...
Currently i'm back in my hometown appreciating certain comforts that come with being home; surrounded by your family and friends and also understanding how my home town has influenced who I am.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently enjoying my first experiences as a surfer, and meeting others involved in the community. I hope to host in the near future, once I have a steady place of my own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The experiences I have had through couch surfing have definitely allowed me to grow and expand my knowledge base in the past few years. Whether it be my first CS experience in Vancouver, staying in a co-op with University of California students in Santa Cruz, being a guest in a permaculturally, self-sustainable home in Australia, or meeting great people through potlucks, coffee, beach jams and jetty jumps; CS has allowed me to connect with people who have like interests and share experiences that will always be remembered.

My interests are in food above all else!
I'm a vegetarian and have been for over 3 years now. I enjoy being in the kitchen -cooking or baking- and sharing delicious meals with others over good conversation. Potlucks = one of my favourite things! Food politics, Food science, Food security, Nutrition, Permaculture, Urban and Rural Agriculture; ENJOY IT ALL!

Climbed to the top of Christoffel Mountain, in Curacao, Dutch Antilles

2 day, 800km hitch hike trip from Melbourne to Adelaide, AUS.

Lived in a tent for 3 months, treeplanting in Northern B.C., allowing me to see some of the most beautiful landscapes in Western Canada.
