About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see this Beautiful world and meet the Beautiful people in it.

ABOUT ME

A year of Lindsay consists of a routine that is little by little changing over time. Just as the winter weens away I come back to the Similkameen valley and start working in the Orchards. Pruning vineyards, weeding crops and the odd job in various fields. I get to be involved with the process from grey to green. The blossoms start coming and there is a short period of time where there isn't much work so I'll get itchy feet and wander for awhile, usually just sticking in the confines of BC.
I'll question whether or not I should go back to Orchard work or if I should just find a customer service job. I'll think about schooling and getting meself an education. I decide on the first option, dust off my tent and go to an Orchard for the summer. Wander around BC and hit up a few festivals here and there. The main event of my summer is volunteering at Shambhala, after which I choose a destination to explore. Whether it be hitchhike to the East Coast or Vancouver Island...I have these great fantasies of going arund the world, but I feel I should discover my home Country a little bit more. There are even places and mountains I haven't scaled in BC yet. So I am in no hurry to spread my wings that far.
I will wander through the fall and once the snow falls I find a ski hill work as a liftee and shred the gnar all winter long. Living and appreciated the mountains.
I'm completely content with how my life is and the rollercoaster I am on. Though I know sometime in the near or far future I would like to get a job in the community sector helping people and to have my own home. Have a garden in the back and a big Husky to keep me company, a place where I can actually call my home. But I have patience and I know I'm not ready, I don't want too many responsibilities this early in my life. I'm not looking forward to insurance, mortgages and all that grown up jazz quite yet.
I like helping people and meeting new faces. I'm easily fascinated by everything that is around me. And I like to smile so much my cheeks hurt.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't participated much yet, a few houses on the island and Ontario. I hope to do more this year and if I end up finding myself living in a house in the future I would love to host people!

Interests

Wow! I Love to Dance! I Love to see people Dance most of all. Community within our dance is so strong and unbashful. We are showing our true self, completely exposed if you allow yourself. Festivals make such strong impacts on me. There is something also to say about a festival that still allows children. I Love Fruit and Snowboarding. I am a hitchhiker. I am amazed in the community of hitchhiking. Never had a negative experience. I am currently writing a book of Hitchhiking etiquette for the Rider and the Driver. It started out as a joke but it is evolving so much more than I anticipated.
Children are my Life. They give me Life and Soul. Rejuvenate me. Something Amazing I've seen in my Life? Children. I have an incredible amount of brothers and sisters who all have children. I'm stoked to be the cool Aunty that takes them skiing and to festivals and stuff. To be Real with them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How do you write this down?
...Opening water ceremonies in the labrynth. In a circle we prayed with our Dance around a bowl of water collected from our Local lakes. It was Sunny, the heavier the music the clouds rolled in until we were all dancing and frolliking in the rain. Powerful.
