ABOUT ME

I'm Jake!

My partner Kate and I live near Hobart.
We work in outdoor education-bringing students into the outdoors on journey based camping expeditions. hiking, canoeing, climbing, abseiling, caving, and surfing. We also dabble in teaching.

We have a Labradoodle called Cadbury (like the chocolate). He is a legend.

We are both very cruizy people and like to think we are easy to get along with. I play music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think Couch surfing is about generosity, connections, growing, Carma, improvising, learning and fun. I think I relate to these concepts and most couch-surfers Ive met seem to as well. I have hosted many travelers and showed them around my local area and in some cases not so local areas (!) and have made some very meaningful friendships by doing so. I'm planning to host many couch surfers in the future and I always pick up hitchhikers

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ive officially "couch surfed" a handful of times in Austria, Finland, New Zealand and Australia. They were all fantastic experiences. its great to dive nose-first into a culture rather than observe it from a distance. Ive had couch surfers stay in many houses Ive lived in in Germany and Australia and have spent a lot of time with travelers. Ive done a bit of WWOOFing too.
