About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Life is short. Really flipping LIVE it!

ABOUT ME

I am a creative and artistic individual that lives for traveling and meeting fellow travelers. I love crazy museums and art galleries, architecture, nature, off the wall restaurants and shops, riding my bike, dancing with my dance group R.A.I.D., local music shows, taking my aerialist classes, coffee coffee and more coffee, partying the night away, riding around in shopping carts, dancing in the rain, flea markets and thrift shops, making my own clothes, and hanging with new people and showing people how awesome LA can be! I packed up all my stuff and moved to Los Angeles from Minnesota in 2007 without knowing anyone in the city to pursue work in fashion. I now work at a wonderful company making costumes for film, TV, commercials and live performances. I LOVE it! I make art every day. I am passionate about everything I do and I fully love with all my heart my friends and family.

PHILOSOPHY

Vivre pour l`amour.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Disclaimer: When I first started hosting people I would just say yes to anyone even if I was busy. I am now trying to only say yes to people who are available when I am free so that way I can really show them a good time and really get to know them. I am sorry if you send a request to me and I have to say no. It's not because I don't find you interesting, it's only because I am very busy and I don't want you to have a bad experience. Couch surfing has become more than just me lending a couch to someone who is traveling. I really want to include my surfers into my life.

I love helping and meeting people. I have a need to connect with people on a deep level either artistically, intellectually, emotionally or however I can and I think CS will help me achieve this. Traveling has been embedded in my blood since my family had my first exchange student from Costa Rica when I was 11 years old. Since then my family had exchange students from numerous countries for almost 10 years, I did an exchange program to Germany in high school and I have traveled as much as I can on my own. I studied couture fashion design in Paris as my award for winning an international fashion design award. I always stay with friends when I travel so I think CS will help me build even more friendships with people to stay with when I travel. Staying with locals is the ONLY way I want to travel! I want to host travelers as well as be hosted when I am traveling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First off, I love hosting! I surfed for the first time in Tokyo and it was so much fun! There is nothing like the nervousness of meeting a complete stranger for the first time and having an instant connection and bond with them.

Interests

Everything artistic, crazy, music oriented, drinking, dancing, nature and overall just awesomely fun. I am down for anything and I will try everything at least once. Skydiving anyone?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived for the whole summer of 2008 on a houseboat on the Amstel river at Waterlooplein in Amsterdam and interned across from the Van Gogh museum at the couture house of Mart Visser.

Camped on the ocean for two weeks in 2001 on a secluded beach outside of Gisborne, New Zealand and caught all of our own food.

Won an international design award in 2004 and got to stay in a top story flat in the Latin Quarter of Paris for two months and study couture fashion design. Got to attend the Dior couture show, Galliano men's show, Ralph Rucci's couture show and Nina Ricci's couture shows of that year.

Future travel goals:
Wade through alpacas in Peru.
Attend Carnival in Trinidad.
Pet a real lemur in Madagascar.
