ABOUT ME

After getting my masters in public health online through George Washington University, and I decided to go to a data science bootcamp in NYC. For the past few years I have worked as a health educator and test counselor at a non-profit, providing support services for people with HIV or hepatitis C. Before that, I was a chemistry and physics high school teacher, proteins lab scientist, Disneyland cook, and a professional Irish dancer. In my spare time, I usually like to occupy myself with creative endeavors or activities that get me outdoors. Music, dance, and watercolors have been a big part of my upbringing and I still sing with friends and in local choir groups. I studied abroad in Denmark, learning about medical practice and policy, and I fell in love with the adventures of travel and the variety of people you meet along the way.

I am low-maintenance with a cheerful personality. My clients used to say that I had a calming presence in the room. I love to stay curious about the world, travel, cook/eat new things, and meet new people.

Honestly, after hearing about the fun and enriching couch surfing experiences my ex-boyfriend has had, I regretted not using this site more often all these years.

I want to make connections with people from around the world and participate in a community that promotes mutual understanding, hospitality, and compassion.
