About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn about the world through the eyes of a fellow traveler
ABOUT ME
To travel is to learn - I'm an explorer of peoples, ideas, spirit. I usually skip the tourist destinations. I prefer the food markets, great bars & restaurants, art shows, music. Isn't it great: the spirit of couch surfers - the desire to travel through meeting / connecting with people who see the world differently? I'm sure I have so much to learn from couch surfers and look forward to meeting more and getting more involved in the community. I love creating adventures in every day life as well as travel. That often means I'm the one at the party who gets people dancing, or puts on some crazy costumes etc. At the same time, sometimes I appear shy but most of the time not. I love music, especially soul, funk, latin, soulful or deep house (a type of electronic dance music).
I'm also an outdoorsy type, a little bit. You could put me off 200 miles from civilization and I'd probably make it back with a lot of stories.
In terms of meeting new people, part of what I also enjoy are the cultures, disciplines, places, languages. Other cultures present startlingly different perspectives, giving us new angles of reflection. Sometimes it's better. Sometimes it's just different.
I like to stretch myself to try new things, new foods. Whether that be escargot or walking into a tent on the side of the road in India just to say hello. And may I give a smile to as many souls as I can in this world.
Sports and exercise:
I'm working on expanding this now, but mostly I run with a couple friends. I want to do more dancing, tennis and cycling. I love cycling especially in cities where I can ride around at night or in great city parks. I've been getting back into skiing.
I eat pretty healthy most of the time but have no problem with anything like bacon (yum!) or other things like that.
Sometimes I'm quite serious and so I read a lot of non fiction about business and such but really I will try and spare you any talk like that since I know it bores most people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My girlfriend is a bit hesitant to host at the moment so I'm sorry if sometimes it takes long for me to reply - we'll try surfing on our next long trip, I hope and then probably will host thereafter.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I visited Copenhagen and Ragna introduced me to Couchsurfing there. I was very skeptical and her hosting was a great start to the experience. That's the only one I've had so far.

Music, Movies, and Books
Am starting to read Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut. I have mostly read non-fiction, e.g. biographies to learn from their experiences.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went 1 mile deep into a coal mine in Czech Republic.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe in the exchange of knowledge while traveling. This tradition of traveling and sharing goes back many thousands of years. I know a bit about land use, public transit and entrepreneurship.
