ABOUT ME

Most people these days just call me Jay!
Let's see. I'm friendly and outgoing, always looking to have fun, though I definitely have a serious and thoughtful side. I love learning and being active.
I love hiking and backpacking, reading and writing, partying and dancing, meeting new people and learning new things.
Some of my dreams include sailing around the world, exploring Southeast Asia (check!), South and Central America, backpacking the AT... but not in that order!
Gotta start somewhere, right?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've met many a cool couchsurfer, before I was registered on this thing! In Cozumel (Mexico), Berlin, Tel Aviv, New York, Colorado, San Francisco... I've also hosted travelers but never through this website; more like friends of friends who needed a place to stay and some friends to show them around!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I suppose I unofficially 'couchsurfed' Europe and Israel. I also came across a meetup of couchsurfers in New York City and met some through my previous job selling outdoor gear.
I couchsurfed in Colorado and in California. Sometimes though, those couches were actually floors. Sometimes they were the ground outside!

Intereses

Learning, meeting friends, good times.
New stories and knowledge, sharing my love for the world.
Sailing, scuba diving, backpacking and exploring. Writing and reading. Teaching and learning. Poetry, fiction, nonfiction, anything really... Finding cool places, observing people, exploring. Public transportation systems. Sunshine. Outdoor gear. Science and Philosophy. Animals, birds. Fish, octopi. Rock n roll of course... blues, jazz. Punk, classical. All kinds of music I guess, including electronic music... especially the kind that moves people :)
