About Me

CURRENT MISSION

pilin pona li pona: mi wile pilin pona

ABOUT ME

I am painfully curious, sometimes socially awkward but good-hearted, patient and easy to amuse. Frequently in a contemplative mood.
I'm always ready to travel and know different people. Few things make me happier than talking, discussing, learning from and generally having a good time with people from different backgrounds.
Whenever possible - specially while travelling - I like to experience my surroundings as a flâneur. Everything pleases me, from going out at night or sightseeing to comparing different tree species or how the bathroom architecture differs from country to country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far. But have heard of many nice experiences from relatives and friends and I'd like to try it myself.

Interests

I'm training to become a Medical Doctor, but my heart lies with the Humanities (loosely defined!). Although I'm not particularly knowledgeable, I enjoy spend hours and hours talking about politics, history, linguistics, literature and such.
I also have my share of geeky interests in computer games, card games, manga, comics, hard science fiction and especulative fiction.
I am a keen runner and also do some mountain biking and trekking whenever I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

A vast range of subjects and tastes... more details later.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The sheer hospitality that I experienced during a week-long bike trip through the countryside of Minas Gerais, along with a very good friend.
Climbing Mt. Mayon, whose summit looked like Mordor.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a little bit of Brazilian Portuguese and the History and current affairs of my country, for those who are into it. Besides, I used to play the guitar and though I haven't been practicing for a while I would be happy to gig.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, Uruguay, Viet Nam
