ABOUT ME

I live with two friends for about sixteen month, in a little town next to Paris. I like sports, jazz music, books, comics, writing for academic reviews as I try to be promoted as an University Lecturer. I finished my PhD in 2008 - Viva !

If you read French, you can read some posts from my blog there : http://gaelvilleneuve.blogspot.fr. I try to discuss the role of the media in nowadays society, using some of the things I discovered during my PhD and after. Some posts are quite large, sorry for it : I sometimes just don't know how to end a reflection. But it doesn't mean I am an awful chatterbox - I believe I know how to be silent.

If you want to sleep at my place, your message way include this sentence : Now let your soul run the whole gamut of the wondrous scale. It's a verse of the poem Deep in the Quiet Wood from James Weldon Johnson. So I will know you read my text, and you didn't only try me as a random couch.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like travels, but don't really like hotels. When I travel abroad, I like to meet people who tell me about the place : tourism can be really boring.
I invited two italian adults at my home during the World SOcial FOrum (St Denis) in 2004. It was 6 days long, and it was really interesting.
I live really close to Paris, and I know that people I will meet during my trips will probably interested in sleeping at my home - and this will be a real pleasure.
Please not I have no key left for you, so you will probably need to come to my house, and leave it, at the same time as me.
