Plan more spontaneity into my life

ABOUT ME

My degree says science, but heart says art.

Typical day in Jackie land:
Rise from a peaceful slumber
Put on my camouflage pants and set out to hunt and slay the most dangerous yet essential element this world has to offer...dun dun dun....COFFEE.
Work
Run a few miles outside.
Photograph the sunset at Santa Monica Beach...no that never gets old.
Share smiles with random strangers.
Develop my guitar callouses...(I'm alright, still a beginner)
Practice skills which will boost my cool factor (i.e. computer programing, video editing, poetry writing).
Think about the people who make my life special
Appreciate how lucky I am on so many levels, while devising plans to help others.
Curse the medical admissions committees...because applying to medschool is a tedious, expensive, and impersonal process.
Wonder where I'll go tomorrow and who I'll have the privilege to meet.
Then watch my eyelids close.

PHILOSOPHY

Philosophy #1: Listen.Think. Ask Questions. Repeat.

Philosophy #2: Learn to love who you are, where you live, what you do, and how you feel...it makes life look a whole lot more like an opportunity than a chore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Haven't tried surfing yet....not on couches anyway. Hopefully it requires less skill and balance than ocean surfing =)

Interests

Finding the music in art, art in poetry, poetry in math, math in symmetry, symmetry in physics, physics in motion, motion in thoughts, thoughts in you.

Running, lifting, exploring cities on foot, photography, hiking, wine tasting, beer tasting, pool (the kind you play and the kind you swim in), latin guitar, jazz, rollerblading, genomics and proteomics.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I am sleep deprived most of the time...movies (unless intellectually stimulating put me to sleep).

Books: I read textbooks more than novels. Last book read: The Glass Castle

Music: I love my ipod, it comes with me everywhere. I like pretty much anything other than angry, screeching, heavy metal.

Stem cell research is often tightly associated with spinal cord injuries, however, there are many other applications which might surprise you. I challenge you to do a little research.
