hard question... I like german bands like "Beatsteaks" and "Seeed". I am listening the old stuff of "Queen", "David Bowie", "Smashing pumpkins" and "Blur".... I love "The Kills", all things "Jack White"did and for the melancholic times something like "Daughter".
