About Me
*Right now, not accepting guests as my home is undergoing remodeling. Once that is done I will open it back up to accept guests.*
ABOUT ME
I've been working full-time in the higher-ed tech industry since 2018, and love my job. Prior to that, I had my own business for 12 years as a photographer – much of it in commercial and wedding photography.
I recently became a registered yoga instructor, and teach a weekly class at a local studio.
Earlier in 2022, I ended a podcast I had for two years called Untrained Wisdom, about people 55+ who redefine what it means to become older. It was a lot of work but I've connected with people all over the world as a result.
Prior to my photography life, I was in the Peace Corps in Suriname, South America for 2 years. My formal volunteer role was with an agricultural organization in the capital, but the best part of my experience was working with endangered sea turtles for 3.5 months on an isolated beach off the coast of the Atlantic. During this time in Suriname I got serious with photography, and went back to school in Portland, Maine for a photography program before returning to my home state of Iowa and starting my business.
PHILOSOPHY
I love life. I think we all have something to contribute to the world whether we realize it ourselves or not.
