ABOUT ME

Always on the go, and always a beer in hand! I'm what you would call a metal tourist, where almost every trip I take is instigated by a metal gig or festival out of town, and expands into a sightseeing/barhopping expedition! I'm fun and friendly, and have tons of stories to tell.

We're always the first ones to invite friends of friends to our place when they need a crashpad, and now that we're traveling more, it's always more pleasant to stay with new friendly faces than in surgical hotel rooms.

兴趣

I love listening to metal, and attending, photographing and writing about metal gigs. I publish an independent printed 'zine (when I have time!), and I love traveling. Being an American stuck in Finland, I try to make it back home as often as possible. If my new homeland wasn't so flat, I'd be snowboarding whenever possible. I'm a foodie in as un-snobbish of a way as one can get - I just love to dig into a new taste combination, a local dish, or a cheesy mess on a paper plate.

did I mention I love heavy metal? :D I'm not so diverse when it comes to music, except within the metal genre, but I'm really open to hearing new things - I just rarely get the same thrill that I get from a good metal band.

I usually prefer TV series to movies, just because of the continuing story aspect - I'm a huge fan of storytelling, role-playing, and such... and this leads into books, which I usually prefer from fantasy/sci-fi, perhaps just because the element of reality can be left so far in the distance that the capability to expand one's thinking reaches new levels.

I'm sometimes convinced that I live in a fantasy realm, what with all the mindblowing experiences I've had, fantastic people I've met, and the ease of letting go of myself. but that's another story!
