About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living vicariously through other travelers, until I come up with my next travel plan

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and meet new people from all walks of life. I just moved to San Diego this year and am enjoying the wonderful sunny weather.

PHILOSOPHY

"The soul should always stand ajar, ready to welcome the ecstatic experience."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met some really cool people surfing on my friend's couch. Just recently had the opportunity to go Couchsurfing myself and am convinced. From what I have seen so far it is a great community of people and I look forward to hosting.

Interests

I am usually really busy with school or work. I like dancing salsa, bachata, reggae, etc. I enjoy running especially in the great weather we have down here in San Diego. I have yet to go surfing but am determined to learn before I leave San Diego. Since I work in health care, I have been watching politics and current events pretty closely. I think traveling makes people much more aware of the world as a large community and the importance of following global events.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reading a lot of non-fiction lately, currently a collection of essays. Best Science Writings of 2008. My all time favorites are Sula, The Power of One, Surely you must be joking, Mr Feynman. Anything by Julio Cortazar, Isabelle Allende, Octavio Paz, Richard Wright, Cornel West, or Toni Morrison. I am a fan of hip-hop Digable Planets, Jurassic 5, Latyrx. Reggae is the music I can relax too. Recently been listening to old 70's funk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As much traveling that I have done, I am still continually amazed by the wonders in my own country. I never expected the Grand Canyon to be as take your breath away, panoramic experience. I think the most amazing thing I have done would be working on an archeological site project in Cuernavaca. I got reconstruct ancient remains which may sound a little macabre but it is an enlightening window into past cultures.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
