I love making friends! I work a lot and study a lot, but when I'm not busy with either of those things, I'd love to hang out with couchsurfers from around the world!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I once saw something amazing on the Yamanote subway line in Tokyo. Some people would call it unsettling, I would call it the purest display of friendship I have ever seen. It was around midnight, and two girls were across from me on the train. I would guess that they had originally been sitting side-by-side, but were so drunk that they were now laying down side-by-side, one sort of on top of the other. The one on top was holding a paper bag under her friend's face while the latter puked into it, slowly. When the girl on the bottom rolled her slimy face upward to signal to the bag-holder that she was finished, the bag-holder took her cue and pulled the bag up to her own face, and she puked into the bag for a while. After she had puked for a minute or so, she lowered the bag down under her friend's face again and gave her a little nudge. The bottom girl opened her eyes and looked around bleakly for a second, before a whiff of the bag under her chin pulled her face downward, and she started puking again. This nurturing purge of a rough night put a smile on my face all the way back to Ikebukuro.
