About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Truth Beauty Freedom Love

ABOUT ME

I am a pilgrim, poet, painter on my celluloid canvas, prayer warrior, priestess, peace lover, friend. I like to be spontaneous. And I want to live my life like I believe God is real.

PHILOSOPHY

It's important to live for Truth, to fight for love, and allow grace to permeate in your life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love staying with people who know the town I'm in so I can get tips on the best places to see, and hopefully along the way create a community of long-distance travel pals.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been road-tripping across America using Couchsurfers and it has been AWESOME! When I settle down long enough to have my own place, I can't wait to start hosting other people. In the meantime, I'm excited to meet people in the places that they live, and exchange travel stories.

Interests

I've got nomadic tendencies. I like to climb rocks. And I get trigger happy with my Nikon. My heart is in missions and humanitarian work, cafes and spoken word poetry, acoustic guitar and beautiful lyrics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A travel buddy and I were in Santorini, Greece in November 2008. We had a very late ferry to Rodos (around 1AM). As budget travelers (of the most ghetto of kinds! haha), we didn't want to pay for another night. So, we first hopped over a balcony to stay under a restaurant's overhang for the afternoon, watched the sunset, journaled, read, and napped, then headed to the town's main plaza. By nightfall, it was quite cold. With our luggage and layered look, we looked quite homeless! But this man in a suit, his name was Rod (we'll never forget him) noticed our plight and how ridiculous we looked (laughed at us a little, but in good humor--we laughed with him). He insisted we join him for a drink inside the warm restaurant. We had a pleasant conversation, told us a story when he was in the same situation when he was in his 20s, then also budget backpacker, a man took him for a drink and gave him money, this total stranger. He never forgot that. At the very end he handed each of us a 50 Euro bill, but made us promise that we would pay it forward one day if we ever ran into some desperate-looking backpackers. Cool guy, good experience, and I won't forget my promise.
