COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I flew all the way from Australia to Amsterdam and then caught a train to Maastricht where i was supposed to be picked up by someone from Maastricht University and taken to my accomadation (which i had no idea where it was). Arrived at around 9pm, but couldnt find anyone. So i was in a city i have never been to before, didnt know the language, had no phone or even phone number to call, and no idea where i was staying. There was a festival in town so all of the accomadation was booked. Luckily I met a guy who went to my university and he told me he was "couch surfing" with someone for the night. He asked these people, and I was able to surf on their other couch for the night! Absolute Life Saver!
