ABOUT ME

These things are funny because our first instinct is to write tangible things (student, short, female, young, history major, etc.) but that rarely gives people insight into who you are.

I can be awkward around new people, but I will chatter away once that hurdle's been jumped. Seriously, you won't be able to get me to stop! (Kidding!) I enjoy cooking, but it's much more fun to cook for at least 2. I enjoy reading. I can be more than a little sarcastic so please respond in kind (I also tease and joke with the people I like because humor is my default setting). I snore sometimes, but not too loud and not continuously. I sometimes make random comments that make sense only after a long and convoluted explanation. I think out loud, but I think it's better than talking to myself.

PHILOSOPHY

I think there are too many emotions and philosophies that I can discuss about life. The world is not always a happy place, but I know that doing someone a kindness and sharing your happiness is one of the best things we can for one another.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I recently heard about the CS Project and decided to give it a try. Currently I'm studying abroad in London so I have no couch to offer, but I am more than happy to meet and share a cuppa, a meal, or a trip to a museum/market/etc. with someone.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm not too worried, it seems like there are so many fantastic and wonderful people here.

Interests

I don't think I have enough time!

I'm interested in good conversation; in the exchange of ideas, opinions, and experience with respect.

Delicious food is good, but having cooked it and shared it with someone, made it a meal full of laughter and smiles of pleasure, makes me happy.

The list: mythology, history, language, words, what isn't said, theatre, music, beauty in all its forms.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Too varied to name them all. Currently, I'm on an Elvis Crespo kick but there's also Anberlin, The Perishers, and Aqualung on my playlist at the moment.

Movies: I don't go out to the cinema much as I prefer to watch the evolution of characters and relationships over a long period of time on television shows (Stargate SG-1/Atlantis, NCIS, Supernatural, Doctor Who, etc). I am a bit of a Lord of the Rings geek though.

Books: I tend to like Sci-Fi, plays (Sophocles, Euripides, etc.), well written historical fiction, and certain history books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've survived. I've made it this far. I haven't given up. I'm still going.

Teach, Learn, Share

Making chicken taquitos and salsa, sharing my experiences as a child of immigrants in America, and I can also write you a silly poem! You can practice your Spanish on me and I can point out the big mistakes.
