About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To follow the invisible hand wherever it may lead me

ABOUT ME

I would liken myself to a steam train. My route is my journey through life, with my origin being my birth and my destination being my death. The stations I stop at and pass through are the situations and experiences that mould me as I grow mentally and spiritually. The passengers I pick-up and drop-off are the people who come and go on my journey - some for short rides and some forever but all providing different dimensions to my situations and experiences. The coal that fuels the train is the energy I put into everything that life presents me with, constantly burning regardless of its outcome.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe the world is balanced and that whatever we give we receive in equal quantity. Whether we give in advance, at the time of happening or afterwoods the final energy flow is always neutral.

Interests

Music, music, music and music!!!Music is a huge part of my life, it invigorates and moves me and provides me with solace in times of need. Lots and lots of art - old, abstract and contemporary, architecure, sculpture, film and theatre. Photography has become a big passion of mine - I love to take long random walks capturing what I can. Eating out and cooking. Slow sunday morning breakfasts whilst reading the newspaper. Fashion and shopping. Cosy and intimate bars, nightclubs and comedy clubs. Dark and smokey jazz clubs. Personal fitness and yoga. Travelling and embracing different cultures. Meeting new people but also finding time to be on my own. People watching and social behaviour. Learning and trying to take the best from any given situation. Philosophy, with a keen interest in Buddhism. Introspection and practicing various forms of self-help. Taking care of and enriching my soul

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm open to all genres of music but definitely have my favourites. I'm a sucker for good lyrics and quality of voice but also love a good beat and smooth acoustics. For lyrics and soul, I associate most with hip-hop artists, the old divas of yesteryear and a handful of band music. To name just a few; Immortal Technique, Skinnyman, Naz, 2Pac, Nina Simone, Billie Holliday, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, Radiohead, Coldplay, Damien Rice and Paolo Nutini. If I'm in the mood for instrumental, I'm crazy for Jazz especially the sax; Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins are particular favs - I love live Jazz and improvisation. And finally, house! House music has been the soundtrack to my life, I've had some of the most memorable nights gripped within its claws. I have DJ decks back home in London and can spend hours listening/mixing all styles; with deep/dark and minimal being my favs

I'm into old hollywood, international and independents. Anything with an original plot, intelligent and which can leave an impression on me. I love old cinemas and go wild for film festivals. Some of my favs:
Breathless(Jean-Luc Goddard), Louise-Michel & Aaltra (Benoit Delepine & Gustave Kervern), Tie Me Up Tie Me Down, All About My Mother, Bad Education & Live Flesh (Pedro Almodover),Old Boy (Chan-Wook Park), Ten & Taste of Cherry (Abbas Kiarostami), La Haine, Basquiat, Trainspotting, Whitnail and I, Life of Brian, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, As Good As It Gets, Psycho, Misery, A Clockwork Orange, The Godfather pt II, City of God
