About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Create something new in music with lots of electronics, complex orchestrations and special vocals

ABOUT ME

I studied composition in the Jerusalem Academy of Music. I play the violin since the age of 6. But it was improvising, playing with friends and composing, that made me feel that I might want to make a career out of music. I play a lot of different genres, and since 2014 I'm a member of the Jerusalem Orchestra East-West, which performs contemporary versions of eastern/arabic/andalusian music. what "initiated" me as a musician, in a way.
I love communicating with my audience, and would always try to find audiences who come open and willing to listen, rather than ellitist classical audiences who fall asleep while a tired orchestra of the world's most qualified musicians plays their amazing instruments (I don't mean to patronise anyone by saying this, I wish were as technically developed as the classical musicians).

My taste in music is quute broad and unexpected... I can talk about music forever, but there's also much more to the world.
I can just say my choices in what mm usic to make or write always comes from the joy and love of music, and the will to pass on this joy to the listeners.

I'm a person who just enjoys living his life. I usually find myself very busy. But I've come to realize that it's important for me to have enough free time to explore the world - by traveling or any other experience such as watching a movie, meeting a friend, doing something new, reading a book or engaging in ridiculous nonsense for hours :)

All in all, I can say I'm an optimistic person with a true love and enthusiasm for life and new things. All of which I owe to my amazing grandfather, from whom I inherited the optimism and enthusiasm. He's probably the most amazing person I've ever met.

I'm a very social person, and my friends are, and have been, very important to me throughout my life. They had (and have) a great part in shaping who I am and my approach to life, and I owe them so much for that!

PHILOSOPHY

I think kindness and social/environmental awarness are maybe of the most important traits for me in people. I believe that being a kind, helpful and generous being is an important contribution to the world and society.
I invest a lot of energy in this, and I get hurt often, when people exploit it for their own good. The way I see it, if the majority of people would act this way, the world could be so much of an easier place to live in. And I know I might be awfully mistaken...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfed several times, and hosted a few times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a 2 week trip with my brother around Europe - Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands and France. We couchsurfed through our whole trip, and it could never have been such a great trip otherwise.
And another 3 week couchsurfing trip with my good friend Meytal.

My first hosting experience happened a few months later when our first CS host, Nina, came to Israel. It was so much fun to host her! We had a great week together full of great conversations, laughter, nonsense and beautiful moments.

Interests

Music:
Performing - violin and electric violin. I sang in a professional choir in the Academy, and I sing in bands and occasions... And every 5 minutes in average I start humming something that would come to mind...

Listening - Electronic music (IDM), Experimental, Progressive (mostly the British 70's), Indie, Post-rock, Classical (western, arabic, turkish), contemporary... All so beautiful. Every genre holds great music in it (and a lot of shit as well, of course).

I guess there are few things that I couldn't find interest in. I like good and interesting people. Really, there's nothing I like more than a good and real conversation that just goes on and on. A true connection with a person can make me feel high.
I like science and art. Philosophy, and just plain interest - to me, almost anything a person could talk about out of his own interest, has a potential of building up to a fascinating conversation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most moving things I've seen:

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to play the violin or sing. Lots of music theory, history, etc.

I have a true passion for languages - pronunciation and accents, linguistics, the origin of words, and how they evolve from other languages, etc... It's so fascinating to start realizing how a certain language is influenced by the culture, and vice versa - the language's role in shaping a certain culture. I haven't studied any of this professionally, I collected a lot of knowledge about these things out of sheer interest. I got to sing in over 20 languages overall, and always looked deeper into it, to understand as much as I can about how the language works.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
