About Me

Meet new people from all over the world and share experiences.

Pragmatic man trying to learn as much about myself and the world in the short time we have to do it in. I like meeting new people, trying new things and going to new places.

Make every day, and every second count. Life is too dang short.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have not participated much but I am making it a goal in 2011 to participate more. I am planning a trip in January and when I return I will opening up to host. SF is a great city and even though I am not hosting on CS, I am hosting old friends and aquaintences all the time.

None yet. Soon! Very soon!

Meeting new people, travelling, dining out, sailing, skiing, working out, intense conversations and light fun banter. Wine drinking and tasting. Going to symphony and ballet. I also like cars, motorcycles, planes, and F-1. I like winter and summer sports.

I wish I could speak more languages!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like mostly movies with drama and suspense. Comedies are fun too but often are too predictable. Often a movie with great background scenery (along with plot) like The English Patient, The talented Mr. Ripley, Bourne Identity and The Tourist are what I enjoy the most. Although The Hangover was one of the funniest freakin movies I've ever seen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Blue Grotto on the island of Capri was amazing.

Experienced a free open air symphony on a summer night in the main piazza of a small town called San Lorenzo in the Italian Alps.

Rode at high speed as a passenger on the 90 bank wall testing track of Mercedes-Benz.

Witnessed an amazing sunrise atop Mt.Haleakala in near freezing weather, then rode (coasted mostly) down 5 miles to balmy beach in Maui

Teach, Learn, Share

I have blue collar and white collar skills and background. I've restored old classic cars and motorcycles, worked as an airline mechanic on modern jets, performed quality control analysis reports while travelling worldwide for a major airline, worked as a sales professional and have managed a sales team.

I have interests in learning a second language fluently, gourmet cooking, fine art and performing arts. I also want to visit all the continents (I am about half way through).

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Austria, Belgium, Belize, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Italy, Jamaica, Luxembourg, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Saint Lucia, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, United States, Vatican City State, Virgin Islands, British
