I've CouchSurfed in Paris with friends, and my roommates and I hosted a few people in Minneapolis last summer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CouchSurfed at Daniel's house in Paris, had a fascinating conversation about String Theory, classical theatre, and the transience of things--and all a ten mintue walk from La Tour Eiffel.
