I want to see the world but first, I'd like to experience my country inside and out

ABOUT ME

I'm a student at a state university in New York. I haven't seen much and would like to change that ASAP. Next summer (2010) i want to live in paradise a.k.a hawaii. I'm thinking about taking classes at one of the local schools or just beach bumming for the summer. I have a fascination with middle eastern history and am often told i have an "aladdin complex" by my professors. I'm an active volunteer at a Ronald McDonald house and it's by far one of the most rewarding experiences. I love kids, and am amazed by them daily. I love cooking. In fact, if I "surf" in your home you can expect home cooked meals daily, or whenever you're in the mood. Cooking is my way of expressing myself, and nothing feels better than sitting back and laughing over a big plate of deliciousness with your friends.

PHILOSOPHY

"You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what she'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on"

My mother died when I was young, and she knew better than anyone how to live life. She saw the world, and she passed the travel bug on to me. I can't imagine not living this out as she did.

I can bring good food and conversation into any home. Maybe you know how to cook, maybe you don't. If you do, we can join forces and if not maybe I can teach you a thing or two. But one thing is for certain, a good meal and conversation come hand in hand.
