ABOUT ME

Just some general details:
I am 27 years old and originally from a small town in southeastern Saskatchewan in Canada. I have a Bachelor of Arts and Science from McGill University, majoring in Biomedical Sciences and Humanistic Studies.
Although I was born and raised in a small town in the prairies, as a child I traveled all over Canada with my family and caught the travel bug early. I spent a large part of my late teens and early 20's traveling: as an exchange student, international volunteer, and backpacker.

I am currently studying medicine in Saskatchewan. I am interested in rural family medicine, inner city practice, and working internationally.

I took some time off before and after going to school for my BASc and MD. During that time I have worked and traveled abroad. In particular I have spent a large amount of time in Ghana. I started a sponsorship program with my mom where we take care of four young Ghanaians. In addition to traveling, I also enjoy active sports outside like running, canoeing, etc. and more creative activities like painting and writing.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is to be live fully. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used couch surfing a few times while I was on a bip trip in 2009-2010.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couch surfed while in Guatemala and really enjoyed the experience. It was nice to get to meet local people and get some "insider" tips
