Join Couchsurfing to see DAVID I.’s full profile.
I like to hang out with like-minded individuals with great travel stories and an appetite for ethnic food.
Food. Travel. Music. Lettuce turnip the beet in Turkey!
I love meeting people from different cultures and exploring the little idiosyncrasies that make life unique. I am very social and outgoing, although sometimes I like to keep to myself and just observe. Classic Jekyll and Hyde.
PHILOSOPHY "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, boggle them with bullsh1t". I live by the theory of Yin and Yang and believe in Karma, good and bad.
My status won't say I host, but if you read this much of my profile, send me a request and write the words "bumble bee" in your message. I'd love to hear how you have contributed to the CS community in the past.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I dig CS events and hangouts since the people are almost always entertaining. I starting hosting during the 2011 Chicago CouchCrash and had an amazing experience and continue to host periodically.
I also attended the Cleveland & Madison Couch Crashes in 2016. I've been taking some initiative to pay back the CS community with our very own Couch Crash by reviving it in Chicago in 2015 after a two-year hiatus!
In San Francisco, I host a monthly First Fridays art walk.
Look forward to seeing a lot of you soon.
I like cold beverages on a hot day, and big time food nerd.
Love thought-evoking films, playing golf, basketball, aviation, music, visual arts and just about anything else that involves being social.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Motorcycle Diaries, The Art of Travel, Babel, 7 years in Tibet, Sideways, Love Jones…or anything directed by Christopher Nolan.
Music: Anything not too mainstream, but love real Hip Hop, Tango Nuevo, Electrofunk, Chill house or electronic beats.
Books: Inspired by Marty Cagan, Shoe Dog by Phil Knight and How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie. I guess I'm sort of a self help freak.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've always had a fear of heights so decided to attack it head-on:
I skydived...and I have 30+ hours of single-engine private pilot training and hope to someday get my license.
Teach, Learn, Share
I really want to meet more international people. I always appreciate new perspectives on life and on living...especially when I'm not traveling.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook. I love to discover the local produce markets. I can tell stories. I can exchange Cantonese and English.
