ABOUT ME

Last year I performed my community service in an after school care centre where I took care of youths, helped them with their homework and also organized their leisure time. Meanwhile I have reached a point where I can very well imagine myself in such a job aswell and plan to study social work after my time in New Zealand. I need to be out on the field rather than gather dust in some office or laboratory.
I am also not very demanding and can get along easily without any luxuries, NZ definitely showed that.
I can enjoy the advantages of a big city (I lived in Munich last year), but I actually need the lush green of the countryside from time to time. The clear night sky there can't be compensated by all the lights of a city.
I am also not the person to plan things weeks in advance, but somehow everything always works out perfectly.
I smile nearly all the time and hope I am easy to get along with, while I usually have no problem to accept people with all their flaws and characteristics. That's what makes a person a person.
I enjoy any kind of movement, team and individual sports both in the same way. I especially like the kind of activities that need your whole attention, challenge mind and body, such as rock climbing.
With the help of two other travelers, I finally managed to become a chocolate-vegetarian recently.

PHILOSOPHY

With my feet upon the ground I lose myself
between the sounds and open wide to suck it in,
I feel it move across my skin.
I'm reaching up and reaching out,
I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been.
We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some friends used to live on my couch every weekend before I moved into their apartment ;)
But I don't have any actual CouchSurfing experiences yet.

Interests

Sports of all kinds, especially rock climbing and soccer, but also mountainbiking, hiking, swordplay, archery and volley ball, and I always wanted to try rugby.
I'm always open for new ways to better the world and like to discuss them.

Music, Movies, and Books

They all definitely claim their part of my life!

Music is definitely an important thing to me, maybe the most important of the three. I am very open-minded considering music, but somehow I end up liking only very few bands enough to listen to them on purpose. Among my favorite artists are Tool, A Perfect Circle, Manu Chao, early Pink Floyd, The Cat Empire, John Butler, Moloko, Róisìn Murphy, The Doors, Fiddler's Green, Gorillaz, Pure Reason Revolution, QotSA or O'Death. Meeting new people is always a great way to get to know new stuff!

Among my favorite films are Amélie, Hero, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Donnie Darko, Into the Wild, Life of Brian, Fear and Loathing and many more.

With books I always have the problem, that it takes me ages to finish them. I often start reading many books at a time, then forget about some of them, and so on. Generally, my favorite book so far was Hesse's Siddharta, others authors are Terry Prattchett, Dietmar Dath and Khalil Gibran.

I'm always keen to learn new sports, new ways of living (climbing in NZ taught me one) or seeing the world, and like to offer the same opportunity to others.
