I am 29, my wife is 26 and we are traveling China for our first time. She is acupuncturist and I am an ex-computer geek, ex-musician and currently an aspiring kung fu master :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are two open minded individuals hoping to spread the word about community participation (in many aspects) in our small home town. Also building a community of like minded people with common goals.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Haven't done much surfing, just here and there at friends or family members. We're excited to meet new people and share new experiences.

Interests

This could be a really long list, but I'll keep it short & sweet:

1. Arts - old, new, modern, graphic, music, movies, martial, dance, arts of all mediums.

2. The cup is usually 1/2 full - we try to be positive people, and really like to have a good time while being positive and respectful.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Kungfu Panda, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Labrynth, Shaolin Soccer, Yip Man, Ice Age, ....so many movies - cartoons, action, martial arts, independent films, foreign, comedy.

Music: Rock, Metal, Punk, Reggae, some Pop, Hip hop, rap, dance, some country, folk, classical, jazz, blues...as you can tell we like all kinds of music. It just depends on what mood your in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard one because what one person may define as amazing another may experience in day to day life. This China trip has been amazing for us. Yellow Mt., SuZho, Nanjing, Purple Mt., the sites and the food...amazing. Our home is also amazing, we can set on the patio and see 5-6 cars drive by the entire day, but it's only a 20 min. drive to the big city where you can pritty much find whatever you want. Parasailing in Hawaii was amazing, hiking through underground caves in Hawaii and in our home town, Scuba in Mexico and on the West coast in the US, learning variouse courses from amazing brilliant people....

Teach, Learn, Share

Share: Alan has years of experience with music. He can play guitar, and drums, and is able to read music. No professional but a hobbiest. He also has years of experience with computer technology - fixing, building, hardware, software, web design. Stacey just finished graduate school for traditional Chinese medicine, and has knowledge in health and how the human body works. She is also an artist who paints with oil based on canvas, airbrush, and pottery.

Learn: Both would like to learn more about Chinese culture. Alan is interested in martial arts, Tai Qi, and Chinese Yoyo. Stacey is interested in Chinese calligraphy and painting.
