ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Katie. I'm friendly, adventurous and love to travel. I'm travelling in China at the moment and trying to learning a bit of Mandarin.
Normally I work in a museum as an educator and live in a lovely eco-friendly co-operative housing project which is the very rare thing - a welcoming community in London a city where not enough people know their neighbours!

I'm travelling right now and I don't have a couch at the moment but am more than happy to have coffee and a chat to a fellow traveler who might want spend some time with a friendly face.

I've stayed in Yangshuo China.

Interests

I am in love with the natural world... I enjoy climbing, learning, art, other cultures, new experiences, food (mainly eating if I'm honest), pedagogy, international film, socialising, fun forms of exercise something outdoors, with other people... plus a bit of adrenaline.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to Moscow before it was expensive, when it was just as epic and but falling to pieces... Climbing a mountain in Spain... the sky over the Atlantic ocean... eating fondue in the Swiss Alps... paragliding over forests in Slovenia... working with troubled teenagers in S.London... having a few dreams come true and living out new ones.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm quite good at using/developing memory techniques with individual students to assist teaching English when they are dyslexic or have other learning difficulties <-- I did this last year in Slovenia.
I can teach basic climbing knots, swimming, facilitation skills and basic meditation and the making a world class banoffee pie.
