ABOUT ME

After having taught Spanish in Kansas in the United States for 6 years I needed something new and different! I am currently an Auxiliar de Conversación teaching English in Valencia, Spain. Estoy aquí también para practicar y mejorar mi español.

PHILOSOPHY

I have a tendency to live life safely, so I push myself to try new things and break out of my routine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am sorry I cannot offer my couch, as my flatmate is not open to the idea of couchsurfing. However, I'd still like to meet new people and explore Valencia. I am still discovering new things (and sometimes still getting a little lost) in Valencia after living here for several months. If someone would like to come exploring with me, we can drink a cafecito and go out in search of fun things to see and do. We might get lost a time or two, but that's how you discover new places, right?

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a wide variety of music--I get tired of listening to just one style all the time. Although I appreciate serious dramas, most of the time when I watch movies or read books I want to relax so I really enjoy comedies or light-hearted stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) Snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of the Galapagos Islands, seeing an island covered in volcanic lava from an eruption only 100 years before where the only plants that can grow out of the lava have to eat parts of themselves for food, and living on a boat for five days in the Galapagos
2) Climbing the pyramids of Teotihuacan in México. The adrenaline from the climb combined with the beautiful view and fresh, cool mountain air was so exhilarating!
3) Getting lost for hours in the Medina of Fez in Morocco. What an amazing place!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have taken ballet and jazz and can salsa, merengue and swing dance. I also act and sing as hobbies.
