About Me
CURRENT MISSION
see as much of the world as cheaply as humanly possible without being too much of a tight arse (!) and learn some cool stuff along the way.
ABOUT ME
Well, i'm 27...I have been working for 4 years since i qualified as a physio and have always promised myself i would go traveling again and see some more of the world. Went away at 19 to China for 6 months and lived in Shanghai for most that time and then traveled around after that in China. Since then I have been to Thailand and India and have grand plans to get to many more places.
I have been planning an around the world trip for years now and have been lucky enough that my house mates from home fancied doing some traveling too. So I left my job (with the hope of them taking me back when i get back...eventually)and headed off to south america with Nicola (a lovely girlie I live with back home) and we have been to Peru, Bolivia and Chile (where we heard loads about couch surfing) and New Zealand and finally Australia. We were together here for 2 months before she went to thai land to see her Boyfriend. So now I am flying solo around western australia and then over to Japan where I hope to learn some Japanese language to help my travels.
I have a dog back in the UK called Frazzle, he is a cavalier king charles spaniel, and I love him loads, my mum is being a darling and looking after him while I am away. At home I love taking him for walks on the beach and in various parks and he keeps me fit.
I am a keen snowboarder (and occasional skier) when I am able to and I love seeing any live music (could be classical or rock or jazz or .... well.... anything!).
I am always up for a giggle and I discovered in new zealand that I love stuff like abseiling and caving and rafting, a journey of self discovery! Will definitely be keeping up some of these fun things when I am back home.
We are keeping a blog on www.getjealous.com/julesandnic if you want to hear about our adventures and get more of a feel for who I am.
PHILOSOPHY
Never regret anything in life....everything happens for a reason, you just have to discover what that reason is. Life is an adventure and every moment should be lived to the max and treasured forever!
I am one of the luckiest people I know...great family, amazing mates...what more do you need?
I love to laugh!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Never done any couch surfing but all the people I have met that have done it have been awesome so have a good feeling that we will meet some great people doing this! In WA I would love to find some people to crash with especially in Perth, and in Japan I would love to stay with a family or young professionals and learn the language a bit so I can travel around and get a bit more from my experience. When I get home I will most certainly return the favour as I always have a guest room and love meeting people and learning new cultures.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Nothing so far but I hear GREAT things!
Interests
Outdoor adventures....rafting, tramping/hiking, snow boarding, skiing, climbing.
learning about different cultures and traditions
trying to pick up little bits of languages....I speak very bad little bits of spanish, french, german, chinese and british sign language....all of it better when I am drunk!
More than anything I love meeting people and having a really good night out dancing my socks off!(and even more so if I can dance on something ie a table/rock/car as my facebook pictures are illustrating!)

Music, Movies, and Books
Not joking, love pretty much everything, I have been reading more and more on my travels, I love action books Like Tom Clancy or Patricia Cronwell stuff, or things with a good love story, or a good horror story.
Music is the same, love everything...my i-pod (before it went to the electric graveyard in the sky) had a huge mix on it, from Limp Bizkit to the Feeling to MGMT to classical stuff....I could go on, love anything live so going to pubs or gigs is a good thing for me to do.
I have a terrible memory when it comes to films...could watch the same film 10 times and swear I have never seen it! Love comedy, romance, thrillers, anything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The black abyss adventure in the Waitomo caves...fell in love with the place, cant recommend it enough, hope one day to come back and work there if i can!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
In China you should never completely finish your meal (especially if someone is buying you dinner) as it is a sign of a bad host if all the food is eaten...it means they did not provide enough.
