About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Visit all the places lonely planet doesn't know about yet

ABOUT ME

Trying to see as much of the world as possible. Realizing that a thumb and a pair of sunglasses are all you need. After serving three years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Central America, I've hung up my traveling shoes for a bit and begun working in global public health.

PHILOSOPHY

Not all who wander are lost...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couchsurfed for years growing up (UK, Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Chile...) and always met the coolest damn people around. As a Peace Corps volunteer, I loved hosting folks up in the mountains and giving them a real taste of campo life. They seemed to get a kick out of spending a few nights in a farming community, bathing with river water and helping out with community health projects, eg, feeding my rabbits and throwing rocks at my neighbor's "free range" chickens to keep them out of my garden.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Latest CS experiences:

- Chilled with Lauren and Mike in Winston-Salem
- Crashed in the chaos that is Port-au-Prince
- Rice, beans and surf with PCVs in the DR
- General mischief in Yosemite NP with a man named "Bobcat"
- Hitchhiked and couchsurfed from San Salvador to Medellin, crossing the Darien Gap via the Guna Yala Islands (never thought a cargo ship would stop if you stuck out your thumb).

I couldn't think of a better way to see the world.
