ABOUT ME

I get paid to study math and occasionally help freshman struggle through their calculus homework. It's pretty fun most of the time. I try to wake up early enough to use my espresso machine, which is finally producing good cappuccino! I like to cook, and love thai food.

Eventually, I'd like to get a high paying job so I can retire early and teach maths to curious people.

PHILOSOPHY

Everyday is a chance to do something worthwhile; being happy is a worthwhile activity.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now my participation is pretty modest. I have co-hosted a couch surfer along with my former roommate, Emily. I've since moved, and have a couch of my own to offer.

Interests

I can be interested by almost anything. But if I have to be specific, let's say: TED (many of these lectures are of general interest); politics at various levels; movies; maths; applications of maths to real life; chamber and choral, jazz and alternative music; french bulldogs.

I can cook basic stuff - only of value to the true novice. I'd like to learn your best/favorite recipe!
I could help almost anyone with math, and I'm good at general problem solving.
I play a few songs on the piano, violin and guitar. I can sing and sight-read, though I may be rusty these days. It could be fun to play a piece together.
