ABOUT ME

I have lived in Cornwall on the south coast of England for the last 24 years and had a vegetarian lifestyle for over 32 years. I have 2 children aged 23 and 19 and have been a single parent for the last 12 years. I owned a health food shop for 5 years and for 9 years I had a vegetarian and vegan guest house. I have rented rooms out to lodgers for a number of years until I sold my house in March 2008 and moved to my present home which is a three bedroom semi detached house in the village of Mullion on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall.
I am now employed as a hotel receptionist in Mullion. In my private life I am a healer and a crystal healer. I really love crystals and enjoy the positive healing they bring to people. I am co-organiser of The Healing Light Festival - website www.thehealinglightfestival.com. The festival is designed to bring healing to a wider audience through an holisitic health and spiritual day. The first festival was held on 19 March 2011. The next event is on 29 and 30 September 2012. I love living by the sea and walking along the beautiful beaches here and along the cliff tops. I enjoy gardening and photography. I enjoy live music and theatre. I had two lovely ginger cats. I have only one beautiful ginger cat now. My very special lovely ginger cat Moppet died recently,one of the saddest days of my life. I love all animals and enjoy making new friends.

PHILOSOPHY

I have a vegetarian lifestyle which incorporates not just my diet but my thoughts about people, animals and the planet. Kindness, understanding, honesty and integrity are important to me. I dislike dishonesty, rudeness, cruelty to animals and people. I strive to be true to myself.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined couch surfing because my son is a member and suggested I join. He is traveling in Australia at the moment and is an ambassador for couch surfing. I am working full time and it may not always be possible to host anyone. But I would always try to help someone if they needed somewhere to stay.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted my first guest from Australia. CS synchronicity - she is from Sydney and my son Olly was couch surfing in Sydney while she was staying with me! We learned at lot from each other and I enjoyed introducing her to our wild and windy coastline!

Interests

I enjoy walking along the beaches and cliff tops where I live, swimming and body boarding in the sea, gardening, photography. I enjoy live music and theatre. Comedians. I am a healer and crystal healer. I enjoy connecting with earth energy and visiting stone circles, quoits, standing stones and ancient sites. I love visiting Cornish gardens and connecting with the energy of flowers, plants and trees.

I enjoy listening to all kinds of people from all walks of life but not if they are pretentious or pompous. I think that older people have a lot of knowledge and experience and can be very interesting to listen to. I like to help people with my healing and crystal healing.
