My name is Jeffrey Lowell Peterson, I am thirty one years old, and like many of my brothers and sisters out there, I seek experience. My aim today is to travel as much as I can and meet great people along the way.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to follow my ol' granny's philosophy: be nice to everyone, even if you shouldn't or you don't want too. just be friggin nice as pie.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a few people while living in Hawaii, and then while living in South Carolina. I've also attended a few couchsurfing gatherings. I've yet to surf on someone elses couch but i'm sure that'll change sometime soon. I still feel like a newby.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Pretty awesome! It's amazing how much you get back when you put yourself out there in the world. I haven't participated nearly as much as I really have wanted, but I have done enough to realize just how welcoming and positive and nice and fun complete strangers can be. Cheers to that.

rock climbing, hiking, camping, playing the gee-tar, writing funny songs, making up funny songs (off the dome) with friends, drinking beer, hanging out, growing beards, going to the salvation army for trinkets and t-shirts, cool sweatshirts, running, being really comfortable.

also lots! I'm probably into all the typical stuff. lotsa folk and bluegrass. getting pretty heavy into classic country gold lately. also into jazz and blues. especially reallll dirty southern swamp stuff. i also quite enjoy the indie rock n' roll stuff: wilco, andrew bird, califone, neco case, arcade fire, broken social scene, dr.dog, the fruit bats etc, etc, bla bla bla. music is pretty cool. oh yeah, movies and books are great!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

During the summer of 08 ("the year of doing") me and my friend Matthew Nall decided to hike the John Muir Trail. All 220 miles of it! I know this might not be that crazy for a lot of folks, but it was friggin insane for me. Anywho, we started out just him and i, but soon met a fellow named William Wood ("Woody") who was wondering around the sierras and decided to come with us. A couple of days later, we met another gent named Doug from Oakland (full name). A few more days of tramping down around the forests and sleeping beside gentle warming fires we gathered up a beautiful woman named Grace Logsdon. Our Wendy! She led us along the trail as we shared our stories. For three and a half amazing weeks we gathered up a whole gang of stragglers and gallywaggers, finishing off the trip with my dad, my uncle john and a best friend (thanks again Mike!)

Well...this whole experience changed my life and since then, the life I have been trying to live has been an extension of that wonderful trip. So here I am! "Here's to the Year Of Doin!"
