About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn the human body.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Hampton Roads, the "757" to locals. I'm generally easy going and always up for meeting new people and trying new things.

PHILOSOPHY

Human beings were invented by water as a device for transporting itself from one place to another.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Fairly new to CS.... looking to become more involved. Did some road tripping across the country in 2012 and met some awesome people! Now that I'm settled in (or trapped?) in CT for the time being my place is available to surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to CS hearing about it first from my ethics professor! He had nothing but positive things to say and a few great experiences.

Since then I've met some amazing people. Took a road trip cross country going west over a period of three weeks staying with various people and on various couches. Did it again 6 weeks later going back east and took my sister with me. We had a blast!

Interests

Snowboard, scuba, motorcycles, movies.... open to pretty much about anything!

Music, Movies, and Books

To many to name. I listen to most any music, have a wide range of taste in movies (and watch many). Currently reading... or trying to at least. Four years of reading textbooks has made reading for fun more difficult even though I used to read 2-3 books a week before med school!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's hard to pick one thing, I will add random things from time to time:- Eating blowfish in Tokyo, yum!- Standing on the great wall in Badaling.
- Awe inspiring sights of the Grand Canyon, you always hear how big it is but when you actually see it.....

- Hiking Arches national park, simply amazing. All that redrock... it's like Mars with Oxygen!

- Hiking Zion National Park.... gorgeous. Utah probably has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country.

- Death valley... went in the wintertime and it was HOT, with NO shade. Beautiful place, stood at the lowest altitude in the US! But don't ever go here in the summer time, I can't imagine the heat if its that hot in March!

- A sand dune creeping its way onto a road somewhere in rural New Mexico. Yes I had to swerve out of its way because I couldn't see it coming up ahead with crazy sand storm that was blowing around that night.

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess I could teach you CPR or something... it's pretty easy actually. In medicine we like to say "see one, do one, teach one" which I suppose is of the same grain as the Confucius saying that I prefer, "I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand."
